Planning a ski trip to the Westin Monache Resort in Mammoth? The resort’s ski rental services cater to all your needs, from helmets and boots to skis and poles. This guide details everything you need to know about ski rentals at Westin Monache Resort Mammoth to prepare for your vacation.
The resort provides helmet rentals for all ages. Helmets are mandatory for children under 14 participating in ski and snowboard lessons.
Standard ski boots are available for rent separately at all rental locations. If you only need boots, bring your own skis so the technicians can adjust the bindings. Note that the resort may not be able to adjust bindings on older ski models.
Westin Monache Resort Mammoth also offers ski clothing rentals for adults for $40, including a jacket and pants. A variety of insulated and non-insulated jackets and pants are available, ranging in size from women’s XS to men’s XXXL. Clothing rentals are only available on-site and cannot be reserved online. You can also purchase base layers and other apparel at all Mammoth Sports shops at each lodge, as well as at Mammoth Sports in the Village.
Multi-day ski rentals must be used on consecutive days. You can pick up and return your ski rentals at any on-mountain location: Main, Canyon, and Eagle Lodges, and Mountain Center at The Village.
If you rented skis but want to switch to snowboarding or vice versa, exchanges are permitted. You can also upgrade your equipment at any time by paying the difference in price.
While the resort tries to accommodate specific equipment requests during the fitting process, they cannot guarantee the availability of particular items beforehand. Staff will use your skiing style, snow conditions, and any goals or feedback you provide to recommend the most suitable equipment.
All on-mountain rental shops offer complimentary overnight ski check if you have a reservation for the following day. However, space is limited and provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
To save time, arrive at the rental shop at least 1 hour before you plan to start skiing or before your lesson. Peak times are typically between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM.
The resort occasionally offers discounted rental packages bundled with lift tickets or lodging reservations. These packages are not always available and pricing is subject to change. During promotional periods, discounted rental packages will be offered as an option when you add lift tickets or lodging to your cart.
The resort offers discounts for advance bookings, multi-day rentals, and cardholders. Save 15% on single-day rentals when you book 14 days or more in advance and 10% when you book 7-13 days in advance. The longer you rent, the more you save – you can save up to 25% on multi-day rentals when combined with advance booking discounts. Discount programs are subject to change and may have blackout dates.
The resort offers a limited amount of demo equipment for children – skis only. Full payment is required at the time of pre-booking or at the time of purchase if renting day-of or day-prior at the rental shop or by calling 800.MAMMOTH.
If you’re unsure about the number of rental days, you will need to return the equipment at the end of the day and come back each subsequent day you wish to rent. If you decide to rent for a longer duration, inform the rental shop when you return your equipment and they will accommodate your request if possible (depending on rental inventory during that period). Multi-day discounts will not be applied.
If renting for only 1 day, please return by the end of the day. If renting for multiple days, please return your rental equipment by the end of your final day. If you return rental equipment late, please settle up with the cashier before leaving.
There are no refunds or credits due to wind, weather, or snow conditions. To save time and money, plan so you can take advantage of pre-purchase deals and multi-day discounts.
Before you book your rental or arrive at the rental shop, know the weight, height, and shoe size of everyone who needs rental equipment. Plan to pick up your rentals at least one hour before hitting the slopes. If you are taking a lesson, arrive at the rental shop at 8:00 AM or at least one hour before your lesson begins. Have your reservation barcode ready when checking in. Ensure you have signed the digital liability waiver for each renter prior to arrival. You will receive an email from [email protected] with instructions to complete and submit prior to your rental date.
At the rental shops, you can also purchase lift tickets and sign up for ski lessons.
