The Westin Los Cabos Resort Villas is located along the Transpeninsular Highway, 19 km northeast of Cabo San Lucas and 10 km southwest of San Jose del Cabo. Signage for the resort is visible along the highway, though the entrance is set back approximately 800 meters on a side road.
The resort’s location is convenient for guests who want to explore both Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo.
After turning off the main road, there’s a guard station at the top of the hill. Private vehicles of hotel guests are allowed through the gate, though our Uber had to stop outside. A porter met us at the gate and brought our luggage to the lobby.
As you approach the lobby area, there’s a motor court. This is used for private shuttles, guest vehicles, and tour buses affiliated with the hotel. The area is spacious and provides a comfortable sense of arrival to The Westin Los Cabos Resort Villas.
The hotel lobby is large and airy. Even though the desert sun was high when we arrived, it was cool in the shade of the lobby. The hotel is older, especially considering all the new construction in Los Cabos, and was built in 1994. While not modern, it is well maintained and clean.
The main lobby of The Westin Los Cabos Resort Villas features an open-air architectural style, allowing for a breezy and welcoming atmosphere.
A guide escorted us to the check-in counter, where our identification was checked and we were presented with hot towels. This was a much-appreciated touch after traveling. It’s a small detail but shows The Westin Los Cabos Resort Villas’ attention to guest experience.

Behind the reception desk is a large seating area and a row of concierge desks. We didn’t have much reason to use their services though it is a nice perk for travelers wanting to book tours. It was staffed during the entirety of our stay.
