Kimpton Seafire Resort is Grand Cayman’s newest luxury resort, having opened just three years ago. This resort uniquely blends high-end amenities with the intimate feel of a boutique hotel. With only 266 rooms, most boasting oceanfront balconies, the meticulously landscaped grounds are manageable in size, ensuring guests are never too far from the pool or beach.
Departing from the more formal atmosphere of the Ritz Carlton, the Kimpton Seafire embraces a modern, vibrant, and trendy aesthetic.
Oceanfront rooms feature two queen beds, a spacious balcony with a sofa, and a large bathroom with a soaking tub and open shower. A generous living area includes a mini-fridge and ample counter space for snacks.
Floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding glass doors showcase breathtaking ocean views. Evenings are best spent with the doors open, enjoying the fresh sea breeze and expansive ocean vista.
The resort boasts a large pool with ample seating, lounge chairs, and rentable cabanas. The beach at Kimpton Seafire is a highlight of Grand Cayman, featuring large floating platforms anchored offshore for lounging and soaking up the sun. Paddleboards, kayaks, snorkeling gear, and other non-motorized water sports equipment are complimentary.
The only drawback is the resort’s location at the end of Seven Mile Beach, adjacent to a busy beach bar/restaurant frequented by cruise ship passengers. However, renting a beachfront cabana provides a secluded retreat complete with plush pillows, fresh fruit platters, chips and salsa, and a cooler stocked with beverages.
Kimpton Seafire is incredibly family-friendly. Camp Seafire offers kids’ activities like crafts, baking, hair braiding, and more. A giant outdoor chessboard, swings, bike rentals, and ping pong tables are scattered throughout the resort.
Dining at the Kimpton Seafire is exceptional. Breakfast is buffet or à la carte, while lunch offers beachside Mexican fare, ceviche, and salads. Dinner options include the casual Mexican Coppaloba and the fine-dining experience at AVE.
Complimentary coffee and tea are available each morning in the library, along with mints and crossword puzzles. A free happy hour from 5-6 pm features wine and appetizers. A cart outside the library serves hot chocolate for kids in the mornings, and lemonade, popcorn, and gummy bears in the afternoon.
Swimming with stingrays is a must-do in Grand Cayman. Book a tour or hire a private boat for a more intimate and tranquil experience.
The people of Grand Cayman are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The island is also extremely safe. Be aware, however, that taxis are quite expensive.
Overall, the Kimpton Seafire Resort is a perfect choice for a luxurious, intimate, and service-oriented Grand Cayman vacation. Be sure to book a beach cabana to elevate your experience.
