Disney’s Parks division, long a standout profit center for the company, has faced challenges in recent quarters in part because of pent-up demand during the Covid pandemic easing.
Operating income from domestic parks increased in Q4 2024 on attendance that was comparable to the prior-year quarter, Disney said, thanks to higher guest spending, partially offset by higher costs and expenses related to new Disney Cruise Line offerings.
The U.S. parks in particular have struggled this year as post-Covid attendance began to taper off. Wall Street has been concerned but has settled into cautious observation of a situation that has rattled one of Disney’s most reliable growth engines.
