State Park Policies
- Guests must be 18 years of age or older to check in.
- Valid photo identification and a major credit card are required upon check-in.
Lodge Accommodations
- Pet Policy: Pets are not permitted in Lodge hotel rooms. Service animals are permitted.
- Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be received 7 days prior to arrival to avoid a cancellation fee. Cancellations received less than 7 days prior to arrival will be charged 1 night’s room and tax.
- Change Policy: Date changes can be made for a fee of $25 + 12% tax. This fee will be assessed each time the arrival date is changed. There is no limit to the number of times dates can be changed on a reservation.
- Early Departure Policy: No refunds will be given for early departures.
- Deposit Policy: A one-night deposit will be charged at the time of booking. The remaining balance is due upon arrival.
Adhering to state park and hotel policies ensures a smooth and enjoyable stay at Canaan Valley Resort State Park. Please be aware of the regulations regarding pets, cancellations, changes, and deposits to avoid any unexpected issues.
- Check-in time: 4:00 PM.
- Check-out time: 11:00 AM.
- Room rates are based on single or double occupancy.
- There is a $10 charge for each 3rd and 4th person in a room (maximum four persons).
- Rates do not include tax. All reservations are subject to a 6% state and 6% county tax.
- A $9 nightly resort fee will be added to all reservations (+ 6% sales tax). Government reservations are not resort fee exempt.
- A one-night minimum stay may be required during holidays, peak seasons, and on specific promotions or discount offers.
- Winter peak season weekends do not allow Saturday arrivals or departures. Sunday arrivals or departures are also restricted during Martin Luther King or President’s Day weekends.
- Package Policies: All unused portions of packages are non-refundable. Guests must be listed as “Adults” to be eligible for package components and receive the full services included in the package.
- Children sharing a room with their parents on a package DO NOT receive the components included in the package unless they are listed as “Adults” at the time of booking.
- Guests paying with a government-issued credit card are responsible for self-identifying at the time of booking and presenting the card at check-in. A tax exemption certificate will be required if not paying with a government purchase card.
