  • Hilton Phoenix Resort at the Peak: A Legendary Transformation

Nestled on the slopes of majestic Piestewa Peak, the Hilton Phoenix Resort At The Peak, formerly known as the Pointe, boasts nearly 50 years of history. This 20-acre resort, situated at the crossroads of the Phoenix Valley, is embarking on a new chapter with new ownership and a promising future vision.

Phoenix-based Pivotal Group acquired the Hilton Phoenix Resort at the Peak from New York’s Fortress Investment Group for $100 million. This acquisition and repositioning includes a major renovation plan to upgrade and modernize this unique resort. Pivotal’s goal is to elevate the Hilton Phoenix Resort at the Peak to a 4 or 4.5-star standard.

From the Hilton Phoenix Resort at the Peak, guests enjoy convenient access to Sky Harbor International Airport, State Route 51, Biltmore shopping, Downtown Phoenix, golf courses, and Scottsdale’s luxury retail stores. The resort is also conveniently located near hiking and mountain biking trails, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Sonoran Desert landscape.

The Hilton Phoenix Resort at the Peak is not just a resort destination; it’s a piece of Phoenix history. Welcoming guests for decades, the resort blends desert scenery, luxurious living, and Arizona cultural traditions. It features the Hole In The Wall restaurant, part of a dude ranch from the 1940s, and is just blocks from Aunt Chilada’s, whose main dining room was an 1890s general store. More recently, President Barack Obama stayed at the resort during a 2015 Valley visit.

Pivotal Group anticipates a two-and-a-half-year renovation plan, which includes:

  • Upgrading and renovating all 430+ of the resort’s guest suites.
  • Constructing a new adult pool.
  • Creating a new luxury spa.
  • Building a new fitness center.
  • Expanding fresh and exciting new dining options.
  • Creating new outdoor gathering and event spaces.
  • Modernizing and upgrading all infrastructure.

Notably, the resort will remain open throughout the renovation process, allowing guests and visitors to continue to enjoy the experience.

“Our goal is not just to restore but to elevate this iconic resort. It remains a good facility, but with some thoughtful and comprehensive renovations and upgrades, it can be far beyond what it was before,” said Pivotal Group’s Vice President of Real Estate and Principal, Julia Najafi.

Pivotal Group currently owns Promontory in Park City, Utah. Previously, the group owned the Ritz Carlton in Phoenix, the St. Regis Hotel and Century Plaza in California, and Red Mountain Spa in Utah. “We’ve had our eye on acquiring the Hilton Phoenix Resort at the Peak for quite some time,” Najafi said. “It’s long been a popular destination for business travelers, families, and local residents seeking a staycation. We expect the resort’s best days are still ahead.”
